Well, not really. Didnt drink much at the launch of Absolut Love. It took place at Rogue Art Gallery on Jln Berangan, near Changkat BB. Nice spot.

There were three cocktails to choose from. Of course i tried all, double shots. Briefly looked at some art by some dude called Parking Project, and Liew Kwai Fei, then went for d finger food.

The two artists are right now workin on a mural on the facade of Frangipani Restaurant & Bar, and this will be unveiled on Nov 12, at a party there DJ-ed by a Singaporean chick called Sangeeta, who looks quite hot.

There are other Absolut parties comin up all d way till d closing party on Nov 14. Which is good, coz dats my birthday week. Which means only one thing.

In fact, there’s one on tomw nite (Oct 29) at Bar Italia, also along Berangan. Freeflow Absolut from 10pm while stocks last. Performing will be percussionist Justin.

Crazy week, last week. Waaay too many events. Every damn day.

I’m surprised am still alive.

i didnt have time to crap.

And almost all sessions started during the day, good for a day-drunk like me, but somehow i ended going to bed very, very late every nite, coz continued elsewhere. And i was working the whole week too. No MC or crap like dat.

There was champagne comin outta my ears at August Man’s anniversary bash at Alexis, Gardens on Wed. My ex-Star buddy Rubin’s d editor. The mag’s only a year old, but celebrated in style! Champagne was sponsored by Mumm – 200 bottles worth!

The outlet is really cool, like d layout n design.

Hit Spaghetti Grill (03 2287-2220) at Megamall for a Guinness before i hit Alexis. Been advised dat they have super-chilled Guinness at cheap prices. They were right. An ice-cold pint from a frozen mug came up to $13.75 net. Sweet deal! All day all thru August. Not confirmed if they serve bottles, but bartender claims they do. A lil above $300 for a Captain Morgan.

Freedom Festival – what next?

I got a reply from the Prime Minister’s Dept (Public Complaints Bureau) about a complaint i lodged against Jabatan Agama Islam Melaka (JAIM) about them stepping on the rights of non-Muslims to drink, and dress how they want.

JAIM claims they weren’t even there at the event. The organizer told me they were.

Looks like someone might be lying?

Either way, the Federal government via Minister of Information, Communications & Culture Rais Yatim are using this fanatical, Nazi government body called PUSPAL to try and impose some silly new rules for entertainment events – u cant drink alcohol (even non-Muslims!), and no alcohol sponsorship.

So i hear the Akon concert has been cancelled because of this silly rule. Coz the sponsor is an alcohol company. Last i heard, alcohol is legal in Malaysia, a secular country.

U wanna make some noise? Write to the papers. And inform as many as you can to do something about it in their own way.

We can’t allow the Talibans to slowly and queitly turn this country into an Afghanistan-wannabe. If u dont stop their plans at the early stage, u’ll wake up one day and realize u have no rights left.

At that point, stop bitching coz nothing can be done.
