New in travel retail

Coupla new drinks comin out real soon.

These are exclusive to travel retail (for now), meaning only available at airports / duty-free.

Beam Global Spirits & Wines is comin up with Laphroaig Double Cask 20 Year Old – matured for 18 years in hogshead barrels and then in quarter casks for the last two years.

Its ABV is 46.6%, but is only available at Paris. Haha. Potong

The regular Laphroaig (single malt, pronouned la-froig) is kick-ass. Had it only once so far at Sid’s, courtesy of a BYO by my friend Gleeson. Taken straight, its crazy smoky n smooth as silk!

Absolut (Pernod Ricard) is launching Berri Acai, a new flavoured one which combines three berries from four different continents: Açaí from South America, blueberries from North America and Europe, and pomegranate from south-west Asia. (Pomegranate is wat grenadine, the reddish cocktail ingredient, is made of.)

Sounds refreshing! I’d have it with soda & a squeeze of lime.

The launch will be backed by a visual campaign inspired by blues clubs, with the dark-blue colour as the lead theme. This is Absolut’s 12th flavour.

Expect to see it in airports by June.
