Was there Friday, and got a sweet deal. Only $27.55 NETT for a pint of Jaz Fresh / Aromatic / Lychee, and you get two more free. So dats like only $9 per 500ml.

I think there’s a similar deal for the 5-liter kegs.

Sure beats any of ‘em, $50 for 3 pints thing.

Refreshing

Was never a fan of the bottled Jaz, but tried the Aromatic (draft) – its pretty good stuff and goes down in a hurry. It’s fruity, with  a creamy body too.

The outlet is at The Pyramid in Sunway, and is quite new. Brussels Beer Cafe also just opened there tonight.

17 Saloon is related to Overtime (Starker beer), and the original outlet is in Sunway Giza. The same deal is on at Giza. (Enquiries for 17:  012 321-3475)

Food is Asian & Western. There’s liquor too. It’s a large outlet, with cozy, chill sofas too.

And, this cool deal is daily from the morning – 11am to 9pm!

Yea, the chilled event at a chilled day-drinking spot is blessing us again. The last event was in April.

Kick-off remains at the excellent time of 2.30pm.

I might go heavy Saturday nite, so really hope i’ll make it to Bakita this Sunday. The last two Thirsty Sundays were pretty solid.

The cover is $25, but u get coupons worth $25. How nice.

Lagers and ales are $5 and $10 per cup, and there be grub.

Best part is, the line between happy hours and sad hours are blurry. While HH used to be for a few hours in the evenings and on weekdays, in some bars it’s not restricted to that anymore.

S’more’s (2240-0069)

Guinness lovers, heads-up bitchis. Located in The Sphere, Bangsar South, S’mores Restaurant and Bar has been goin nuts. For an undetermined period (at least a coupla months still!), a pint of Guinness is goin for only 12 bucks NETT for certain days of the week. And no, its not Monday & Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm or some crap like that. It’s every Thu, Fri & Sat, from NOON till 11pm. Beat that!

A veryy long Saturday brunch anyone?

The catch? Minor. All u gotta do is order one food item per person, and then your drink orders are unlimited. Smore’s gotta nice outdoor lounge.

Now go drown in black juice.

Prefer cider? Sorry, am all out of Baad Apples™ hooch for now. But at S’mores every Wednesday (all day, till 10pm), u’ll get a pint of Strongbow for only $15 NETT. Also with purchase of one food item.

I’ve only checked this outlet out very recently, in Sunway Giza, Kota Damansara, so i can vouch that it’s an authentic deal. Already i been there thrice. Good for pre-partying. Or weekend afternoons.

Here’s the insane deal: Get your first pint of Kilkenny or Guinness at $34++. Then your next two are A BUCK EACH. Comes up to $13.93 NETT/pint, all day, everday, until 8pm.

After 8pm, the deals are sweet too. Call for details. There’s a new Movida in Malacca now.

The Beer Factory (012 366-5505)

A short dance away from Movida, with similar deals. Only better.

Before 8pm – buy one pint Kill/Guinn at $38.30 nett, get TWO free. Haha. Dats $12.76 NETT / pint.

8pm-10pm – one for one.

After 10pm – get six pints for $115 ($19.15 each).

Overtime (017 243-7907)

Also a crawl away, Overtime has some Malaysian-brewed German beer called Starker, and before 7pm, it’s one-for-one, so works out to $17.40 per 500ml NETT. Some say it tastes better than Hoegaarden. And better value. There are nine outlets all over the place.

As an added bonus, the Village Grocer supermarket here stocks Night Train…. . Goddam.

Spaghetti Grill (2287-2220)

U losers in MidValley might get screwed by the traffic, but this American-diner-style joint balances shit out.The last time i was there, a pint of real cold Guinness in FROZEN mugs was below $15 NETT all day & night.

It’s so good n smooth, u could finish it in four gulps, easy. The liquors are only about 8 bucks, and no, it aint moonshine. Whisky is Famous Grouse.

The snacks are good too.

The 50-bucks-for-three-pints gig

That’s $50 NETT, for either Kilkenny, Guinness, or both. There are many bars doin this, like Royal Oak (all outlets, all hours, daily), D’Legends (all hours, daily), and S’mores (all hours, daily). Works out to $16.66 nett/pint. And most joints allow you to not just park, but come back another day if u cant finish your quota! How nice.

There’s some crazy 33 bucks for three pints (Kilkenny/Guinness) deal at The Curve, at Sanctuary, but its only until 7pm (daily). Malone’s at the same mall has two pints for these prices everyday:

Its quadrupled-distilled in Poland from fine Polish wheat & rye, with water from artesian wells. The vodka (and the eagle wings logo) is based on a traditional recipe served to the White Eagle Legion in the American War of Independence, 1783.

Must have been an interesting war.

Last Thu was the F party, Thursday before that by buddy Paulie wuz in town, and we started at 6pm @ Overtime in Kota Damansara. Decent happy hours – about $35 for two pints of Starker unfiltered beer before 7pm.

Bring it, dont stop

Then shifted butts two minutes away to Movida, for an even more amazing deal. $36 nett for your first Kilkenny/Guinness, then a buck each for the next two! So 38 bucks for three. And the rounds kept comin!

So bengkok there. Pushed on to Frendscino in Damansara Perdana, where on Thursday, two pints of Erdinger are $40 nett.

Tall ones

Followed by Es Para Ti for some Jack Daniels. And Jagerbombs (yuck), then Tom Dick & Harry’s for Franziskaner ales. A nice tour over five outlets in one evening. Number of drinks: Uncountable.

The previous Thursday i randomly strolled into 42East in TTDI, unsure what was up – some Jose Cuervo cocktail promotion. I ended up havin three pints of weissbier, six cocktails, and six tequila shots, including the 1800. Yummy!

Some really interesting tequila cocktails were featured by the distributor Fortier via Remy Cointreau. Will talk about them later.

There’s actually a Jose Cuervo margharita ‘Slurpee’ machine behind d bar. I’ll be featuring 42East soon.

Thursday became the new Friday. Hopefully not dis week.

Brain damage: 8/10

D current weekly one is $40 net for yor first pint of Hoegaarden, followed by 15 bucks (net) for all your rest. Works well if u drink a lot. It wd b about $18/pint if u have eight ($145). Some other joints would scam u for about $240 for eight pints, as i posted about before. Like i said, the cost for a pint of Hoegaarden is really only $12.

So u could save 100 bucks per person, each session. Happens only on Wednesdays tho, from 6pm-9pm.

Finally being priced a lil more reasonably

Its the only bar i know that serves BOTH Hoegaarden and Guinness draft. (Update Jan 2011 – Hoegaarden draft removed, due to obligations to GAB.)

It’s $80 nett for Tiger and $100 for Guinness. From 7pm to 12am!

Probably the best u’ll ever get is at Movida (Sunway Giza, Kota D’sara, PJ). They got one-for-one deals from NOON till 10pm! And then again from 2am to 5am. Daily.

Paulaner & Kilkenny at $36.80 nett for two pints ($18.40 each) is pretty good. And $33.35 for two Guinnesses ($16.70 each). I doubt it can be matched at the moment. Its got a super-sized screen inside. All HD of course. Will most def checkitout.

Erdinger, Stella, Hoegaarden, Franziskaner at $46 for two pints, until midnight. Definitely whoops The Library’s fat ass. ($36 for a Hoegaarden is insane.) Carlsberg is $34.50/pitcher at the Factory.

Over in TTDI, there’s good action too.

At PUBLIC (7729-9650) in TTDI Plaza, u can get a 2-liter special hand-blown Winner’s Trophy glass from Germany filled with Tiger for $180. Or a limited edition pint glass (5 designs) with Tiger for $25 net. Am sure there’re other deals too.

Deutsches Gasthaus on Lrg Rahim Kajai 14 has $25 nett for a pint of Hoegaarden, Franziskaner, Stella of Leffe. All nite. No fat screens as far as i know.

At Sid’s, its $19.55 for a pint of Guinness all nite. Also for Tiger. Its $10 nett i think. From noon. Full HD.

S’Mores at The Sphere in Bangsar South has a variety of bottled beers and get this – TWO pints of Guinness for 20 bucks net, from 5pm-7pm daily! The most awesomest. Other times, its $50 net for three pints. Also, for bottles – $50 for 3 Hoegaarden, and $75 for any three of these – Erdinger, Ludwig, Franziskaner, Erdinger or Weihenstephan. I dont think there’s a large screen tho.
